Renae Searls, a junior at Alhambra High in Martinez, Calif., finished fifth in the top section of the girls 1,600 meters in a lifetime-best 4:57.02 at the Stanford Invitational at Cobb Track and Angell Field in Palo Alto, Calif. Searls eclipsed a 40-year-old program record of 5:01.50 established by Paige Tully.
